Create a Shared Album in Google Photos on a Computer
Find out how to compile and distribute a shared album in Google Photos from a computer, including how contacts are notified and can add pictures.

To create and share a family album from a computer, you can select items in Google Photos, create a new shared album, and send it directly to your chosen contacts Google Photos Help.
How to build and distribute a shared album
To compile your pictures into a gallery, open photos.google.com on your computer and sign in to your Google Account Google Photos Help. On the left side of the screen, click Photos Google Photos Help. Place your cursor over a photo or video you want to include and click Select Done Google Photos Help. You can include up to 20,000 photos or videos in an album Google Photos Limits. As a practical suggestion, try selecting all the images you intend to share at once to speed up the process.
At the top of the page, click Add to or create new Add, click Shared album, and then click New shared album Google Photos Help. Enter an album title Google Photos Help. To distribute it, click Share at the top right, select who to share the album with, and click Send Send Google Photos Help.
Contact notifications and access rules
When you send to a contact in Google Photos, people get an in-app notification and a push notification Google Photos Help. If it is a new album or a new conversation, they get an email notification Google Photos Help.
It is important to remember that when you share an album, anyone with access to the album can view the photos and add to the album Google Photos Help. As a practical tip, ensure you only send the link or invitation to people you trust to edit the gallery.
How to check sharing activity and updates
To review sharing history on a computer, go to photos.google.com and click Updates on the left side of the screen Google Photos Help. You will find your shared albums, conversations, and sharing activity, like comments and recently added photos, in this section Google Photos Help.
